My background is primarily in swimming, but I have experience in rowing at the collegiate level as well as in long distance running and elite level triathlons following college. After having two kids, I needed something to help me stay in shape while also allow me to feel part of a team and I found CrossFit. I immediately loved that I could get in a great workout in a short period of time that was effective, efficient, and satisfying. CrossFit pushes me to find the drive I used to have back in my swimming days. It also brings a great sense of community and camaraderie that I loved about being a part of a team. Coaching was an easy transition, and I have been a CrossFit coach since October 2012.

The driving force behind opening the BBBC was the desire to combine my knowledge of boxing, CrossFit, kettlebells, Olympic lifting, personal training, and nutrition so that I could help people reach their fitness goals. I know what it’s like to go to a huge gym and feel lost and I know what it’s like to work hard and not reach a goal. I want to help you avoid the common pitfalls of training and I want you to get to your goals. You work hard in the gym and all of that effort should count for something. At the Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club the focus is on you, your goals and your results and I use all of my experience to tailor your workout to your needs.
